Dental Implants

Dental implants are metal posts that are surgically fused into the jawbone beneath the gums. Once it is in place, a replacement tooth is mounted onto it. Because the implants are fused into the jawbone, it provides excellent support for the artificial tooth or teeth.

Dentures and dental bridges that are mounted to implants won't slip or shift around in the mouth. This is especially important when eating and speaking. Dental bridges and dentures also feel more natural when mounted to an implant, as opposed to conventional dentures. For some people, ordinary dentures and bridges are not comfortable or evenpossible due to sore spots, sports activities, poor ridges or gagging. Also, ordinary bridges have to be attached to the teeth on either side of a gap left by a missing tooth. The advantage of dental implants is that no adjacent teeth need to be ground down in order to hold the new replacement tooth in place.

To receive dental implants, you will need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. You should also be committed to keeping these structures healthy, by scheduling regular dental appointments with Veeran Dental, and being meticulous about your at-home oral hygiene.
